This includes current performance appraisals; equipment and livestock valuations; advice on current labour systems, farm management advice; land purchase or sale and rental negotiations and succession planning.

Business consultancy: we’ll advise on setting and managing budgets and cash flow; drafting of business plans for loans.

Financial planning and funding applications: we’ll negotiate as necessary with banks and other financial institutions, and advise how to apply for grants, subsidies and other funding.

Dairy/forage management: we’ll help you get the best out of your dairy herd and land with advice on nutrition and management.
Planning applications: although farm buildings are subject to normal planning rules, there are some special conditions and exemptions. We’ve got that knowledge at our fingertips to help give your application the best chance of success.

Basic Payment Scheme (BPS): we can act on your behalf to register for and claim BPS funding.

Countryside Stewardship (CS) scheme: if you’re a land manager, we’ll help you investigate the financial incentives available for environmental activities such as habitat creation and preservation, and apply for funding.

Rural Development Programme for England (RDPE) grant applications: if you’re planning a project to improve the environment, increase the productivity of farming and forestry or grow the rural economy, we can help you apply for funding.

Contract farming agreements: Agreements between landowners or tenant farmers and contractors can be mutually beneficial. We’ll draw up a contract farming agreement to help safeguard both parties.

NVZs: if you’re in a Nitrate Vulnerable Zone, we can provide help and guidance on how to comply with current DEFRA regulations.

Renewable energy: with sustainable energy sources becoming increasingly popular, we can advise on using renewable energy sources such as solar power and the grants available.

Training/lecturing: in the agriculture sector, there’s a constant need to keep skill sets and knowledge up to date and at KMT we can help you identify any knowledge gaps and put a robust training programme in place.
